Chef Jason Duquette has been the head chef of the Hellenic Event Centre for nearly 15 years. He draws inspiration from his French culinary background and infuses it in his signature Mediterranean dishes including for the prestigious Gold Plate Dinner and the incredibly popular Ottawa GreekFest.

His culinary education began at a young age in his great grandmother’s church basement, where she taught him how to bake bread. He later decided that food would become his career, received his culinary diploma from Algonquin College and hasn’t looked back since. Jason has run his own catering company and worked in restaurants such as Langalo’s and Au Vieux Duluth.

Jason was born in Toronto and currently lives in Ottawa with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he loves to cook with his kids and work on small projects. He also loves to travel and experience global cuisine.

With his extensive knowledge and experience in Greek cuisine, Chef Jason has crafted a menu that is inspired by traditional recipes and executed in a contemporary way. His modern, yet accessible interpretation of Greek and Mediterranean flavours, is the essence of KOUZINA.
